In Memoriam
Friday, September 23, 2011 at 5:00AM After almost 4 years I had to lay my old sewing machine to rest. I literally wore the motor out which means I did a lot of sewing! I am proud of all of the projects we completed together. Especially considering I had never sewn a single stitch until I received that machine as a Christmas gift from my husband. Here are just a few of our greatest hits:

Master bedroom bedding

Riley's sleeping bag

Lots and lots of pillows

And my all-time favorite, Riley's clown costume. This costume is actually a pretty bad sewing job but everytime I see pictures of her in this outfit my heart melts! Hayes will definitely be a clown for Halloween in the near future.
When it came time to replace my old machine, I went with this recommendation. It is similar to my previous machine so I am hoping there won't be much of a learning curve and it is a little more heavy duty than my old one. Hopefully I won't burn the motor out of this one :) The machine has arrived and is still in her box but I am getting ready to pull her out. The first project on my list will be finishing the curtains in Hayes' nursery.

The back-ordered pink velvet finally arrived last week.
And I have big plans for Halloween costumes for the girls. We will see how it all works out. If those go well, I may even try to sew a few outfits for Hayes.

Have fun! Some of my best sewing was done while my toddler was in preschool and my baby napped in a Moby wrap on my chest... can't wait to see what you dream up next and what you think of the machine!
Boy I wish I could sew like that !
I can embroider, that is the extent of my needle and thread prowess :)
How do you not just spend all the day kissing Riley ? look at that face ! :)
You are a inspiration! Seriously, I bow down to you - wow!
