Home again, Home again

We snuck away to the Outer Banks for a last minute getaway to soak up the last bit of summer.

Despite the fact that there was a tropical depression to our west and a hurricane to our east, we had outstanding weather.

We stayed in an oceanfront condo that had a huge pool, a community hot tub and a splash pool for the kids. We even had a private hot tub on our balcony that overlooked the ocean.

 Riley loved the splash pool.

We spent all day every day on the beach.

Most afternoons Paul was kind enough to take the girls up to the condo for their nap so I had time to read a book, drink an "adult" beverage or just enjoy the peace and quiet. The only difficult part was choosing which view to enjoy.

In the evenings we would take walks and look for shipwreck fragments. We didn't find any but we found lots of shells and driftwood.

Everyone we met kept telling us we were "brave" to take a 5 week old on vacation but Hayes did great! She slept most of the time we were on the beach and she loved going out for walks and listening to the sound of the ocean.

When I went to wake Riley up yesterday morning she was laying in bed with tears in her eyes because she didn't want to go home :( When you wake up to views like this, I can't really blame her.

But then a few hours later we were met with this view

and we were instantly reminded why it is good to be home.

Where is this condo? Looks like a great spot and a great vacation! Riley & Hayes are so cute...I want to see them soon!

We had Vaughn-cation at the beach last week too! We were down at Emerald Isle and felt fortunate that Irene didn't wipe the house out, and that the other two storms didn't ruin our good times. Needless to say, I certainly don't want to be here (at work) right now. And after catching up on the past week that I missed, I love to comment and usually have to hold myself back. Don't want to be that person that is all loud-mouthed giving too much input. Just know I always love seeing the pretty things that you see and do. Plus seeing your cute babies helps me consider babies of my own (!). Happy Monday!
