As promised

Last week I mentioned the sorry state of my living room bookcases. Over the weekend I had a few minutes to work on rearranging things a bit. I am horrified at how terrible this before picture looks but here it is:

I seriously don't know how I lived with the shelves looking this bad for 3 years! Especially considering I spent $0 and only about an hour of my time to create something with a little more thought behind it.

There is still a bit of tweaking that needs to be done but it feels like such a big improvement. I really like the spots of color spread throughout the shelves but some areas still feel a little too empty. And, just when I thought I was close to checking this task off of the to-do list, I am now thinking about painting the backs of the bookcases. Decorating my own home is truly a never-ending project...
