When tufting goes wrong.

My mouth literally fell open when I saw this sectional on Restoration Hardware's website today. I'm not sure which is worse - the bazillion button tufts or the fact that even ON SALE it still costs over $10,000.

Is it just me or is this really terrible? Let me know what you think!

Rachel - you are so very right that this is so very wrong. I had the same reaction. At $10,000 it looks like it averages out to $1 per tuft.

Amen to everything that's already been said about the sofa ... my first thought when I saw all that tufting is how the heck are you suppose to get all the food crumbs, fur, etc. out of each tuft? And in white none the less, boy you would really see everything that got stuck in there! Maybe it's intended to be a scary halloween sofa befitting of a haunted mansion!!!

it is horrendous, but a microscopic part of my brain kinda likes how funky it is. i would never buy it, but i feel like if i saw it in a magazine and a designer had constructed a room around it- it could see it being swanky. it's still ugly though.

It's awful and no legs? Just wrong

It truly is awful. I'm anti most of Restoration Hardware's furniture these days. Some of it is pretty but most is too oversized for the average home and looks ridiculous. I feel like a little girl again when I visit their stores because everything dwarfs me. I've also developed an aversion to the aviator inspired stuff. Anyone who puts that stuff in their home is going to regret it in a few years. But I must say their hardware (cabinet knobs in particular) and lighting are still pretty awesome.

Oh this is hideous. So wrong in so many ways, let me counts the ... tufts .... I have a ton of RH hardware and fixtures in my home & i adore them. They should stick to what they are good at. The lighting and cabinet knobs and glass shelves and towel bars in my bathrooms are sublime. That couch, not so much.

When we moved into our 100 year old home in the Northeast US, we bought all of our hardware for the draperies and many lighting fixtures.
I did buy a few things for the kitchen and bath also .. their candles were wonderful too.
But it has been years since I have been to an RH .. I wonder how much it has changed. Guess it might be time for a visit ? :)

Look like someone built a sofa out of zagnuts.

Oh goodness! What a disaster of a couch. This is most certainly a fantastic illustration of why the good ol' saying "less is more" is usually right on target... someone should have listened.

Take care,
