Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 9:42AM I have a round mirror in our master bedroom that I found at a thrift store a few months ago. It is not very big and has a very simple frame, yet it is always one of the first things I notice when I walk in our room.

(This is not our bedroom but I will hopefully post pictures of our bedroom later this week if I can find time to finish one last project!)
I think it is the shape that draws my eye to it. I've pulled several images off the internet lately for one reason or another and I realized that several of them also have round mirrors.

I have to say that I am rather surprised that I like these round mirrors so much because I have never been a fan of their more ornate sister, the starburst mirror.

Did I just lose half my readership with that statement? I know starburst mirrors are very popular and quite coveted in the design world but I have never liked them. They are just too fussy for me.
Anyway, if you are still reading, I really like the mirrors in these images and am on the hunt for two round mirrors for Riley's bathroom which is undergoing construction as I write. This is our third bathroom renovation in a year - and probably our last for quite some time! I'll keep you posted on our progress!

We have a few round mirrors of various sizes, large to larger and I love them too.
That green mirror in the white room looks fantastic !
I have one in my bedroom too and I love the way it looks in there! Post pics of yours when you get a chance!
I despise starburst mirrors. Feel comforted that others are out there that share your same design interests. ;)
I love mirrors of all kinds (and yes, I admit to having a vintage sunburst clock turned mirror), but I don't feel alienated by your comment. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions and tastes. That's what I love about design and design blogs - they open our eyes to different styles and aesthetics. I love all these examples, and that Southern Living bedrooms is one of my favorites!
Can't wait to see your bedroom!
