Upholstered Headboards

  For Mother's Day I told my Mom I would make her an upholstered headboard for a bedroom that we are redoing in her house. Of course, I have never made an upholstered headboard before but there is no shortage of inspiration photos out there.

Because we are using a bold printed fabric and because I don't know what I am doing, I am planning on using a fairly simple shape. I will definitely let you know how it goes. Have any of you ever done this before?

I made one a couple of years ago. Plywood with a very thick, firm piece of foam spray-tacked on, then batting and the fabric stapled on. I'm about to update it with new fabric and nailhead trim! Always helpful to have a second set of hands to hold the fabric tight while you staple : ) Good luck!
