How to tie a bow
Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 9:46PM I can't believe I am sharing this tutorial. For years my mom, sister and I have been tying these bows on our gifts and everyone always comments on how pretty they look. Once you read this post you will see how easy they are and you will no longer be impressed.
To start, you need satin acetate ribbon.

You can find it at most craft stores, but I have found that it is much cheaper to buy online here.
Tie a length of ribbon around your gift.

Next, take a separate piece of the ribbon and fold it over like this:

Wrap the ribbon around 5 to 7 times and then cut the end.

Fold the looped ribbon in half

and snip the corners.

Unfold the loop and using a piece of thin ribbon or twine, tie the looped ribbon to the gift.

Cut the ends of the twine as short as possible.

Then separate the loops of ribbon by pulling them up and in opposite directions.

Play with the loops until your bow looks full and symmetrical.

Now your bow is complete and ready to go under the tree!

Still impressed!!!! I've only got a few presents left to wrap, but I'm definitely going to try this.
Awesome! I've always been 'bow-challenged.' I'm going to try this one....and I'm sure it still won't look as nice as yours!
